Enterprise Ireland announces all sector €750k Competitive Start Fund to accelerate growth of start-ups

Enterprise Ireland’s first Competitive Start Fund (CSF) of the year will open to all sectors for applications on Tuesday next, January 23. The €750,000 fund will provide up to €50,000 in equity funding for up to 15 successful applicants. The fund closes to applications at 3pm on Tuesday, February 6.

Athlone climbs litter survey table

Athlone climbed to 13th position out of 40 towns in the latest survey by business group Irish Business Against Litter (IBAL), up from 17th place last year. Athlone was narrowly beaten by Portlaoise and Tullamore, which came in 11th and 12th place respectively. Ennis in County Clare was deemed Ireland's cleanest town.

The latest survey by business group Irish Business Against Litter shows Galway city has lost the ‘Clean’ status it gained earlier in 2017 and is ‘moderately littered’ in 30th position in the ranking of 40 towns and cities. Ballybane also fell, from 24th to 38th, and is deemed ‘littered’.
